Why I Never Visit Jamaica Without Booking Club Mobay

Travel smarter, skip the stress, and enjoy VIP treatment with Club Mobay.

If you're heading to Jamaica, I have one piece of advice for you: book Club Mobay.

I learned this the hard way on my very first trip to Montego Bay. After months of daydreaming about white-sand beaches and jerk chicken, I stepped off my Spirit flight, ready to soak in island vibes. Instead, I was greeted with thick, sticky air and the chaos of a packed airport.

I sprinted through the terminal, praying I'd beat the crowd to immigration. My gate was at the farthest end, and the main hall wasn’t properly air-conditioned. By the time I reached the immigration line, it stretched back to the escalators. Luckily, I was waved through early due to the backup, but my “luck” ended there.

I first used Club Mobay as a paying traveler and loved the experience so much, I started recommending it to others. I’m now an affiliate, which means I may earn a small commission if you book through my link—at no extra cost to you. I only share what I personally use and trust.

Me on My First Trip to Jamaica 2017

Once I hit customs, I was met with confusing signage and disorganized lines. Starving, thirsty, and overwhelmed, I envisioned a quick snack or water fountain nearby—but no such luck. The only option? A lone Margaritaville tucked away in the arrivals area, with crazy prices and no time to spare.

And then, I saw them.

The Club Mobay travelers.

They were gliding through their own fast-track immigration lane, looking cool, calm, and collected. Greeted at their gate and whisked past the chaos, they looked like the VIPs I wished I was. I promised myself right then and there that I'd never visit Jamaica without booking Club Mobay again.

The Game-Changing Second Landing

On my next trip, I kept my word. I booked Club Mobay in advance, but only the deaprture, and wow, what a difference.

Now that I knew what I was doing uponn arrival, I breezed through immigration and customs like a pro (25 mins). No confusion, no lines, no stress.

But here’s the kicker—I still ended up waiting for over an hour on the resort shuttle for everyone else from my flight to finish up. I was “punished” in the hot Jamaican weather with no lounge to sit in.

If I had access to the Club Mobay arrivals lounge, I could’ve been sitting comfortably, sipping on a refreshing drink, and sampling local snacks while everyone else hustled through.

The Departure That Sealed the Deal

Flying out of Montego Bay can be just as hectic- everyone arrives 2-3 hours before their flights. Which meant nowhere to sit for hours!

On my first departure, I skipped Club Mobay. Big mistake. The airport was packed with travelers arriving hours early, “just in case.” Seats were scarce, food options limited to greasy fast food, and reliable Wi-Fi? Forget about it.

The worst part- No air conditioning! Montego Bay relies on the ocean breezee, but the humidity was killer inside.

But my next flight was a whole different story with Club Mobay.

The lounge felt like an oasis. Plush seating, perfectly cool air-conditioning, and a spread of delicious food options awaited me.

Think fresh fruit, pastries, sandwiches, and even warm dishes—not the sad fast-food chains vying for your attention in the main terminal.

And the drinks? Heavenly frozen cocktails served right to my table. Club Mobay includes frozen blended drinks in the price. I have no idea how many daiquiris I had! lol

The hours I spent in that lounge turned an otherwise stressful wait into a relaxing, even enjoyable, experience in my big, cozy chair and television.

Imagine stepping onto your flight after working on your laptop or simply unwinding with a tropical drink in hand. My airport time was vacation 2.0.

Was it worth the cost? Absolutely.

The peace of mind, the time saved, and the luxury of the lounge make it a non-negotiable for me. Now, whenever I fly into or out of Jamaica, I book Club Mobay in advance. No more stressing over long lines or overpriced airport coffee. Just smooth travels, all the way.

You cannot book Club Mobay upon arrival. To fast-track immigration and customs, you have to book ahead.

Club Mobay departure can be booked at the airport- if it's not sold out. Because seating is designated, it does sell out in advance. I would not rely on getting in upon arrival

Plan ahead and book Club Mobay for a first-class experience—even if you're flying economy.

However you choose to spend your wait, your future self will thank you.
